Apparently when Hell got frozen in Telltale Games' last Sam and Max: Season 2 episode, it froze over for real sometime afterward.

O. M. G. I'm just kind of staring at that, my mouth hanging wide open. I had no idea that this was being made. I can't believe LucasArts has decided to let people do something with Monkey Island, instead of keeping the rights in their closet without making games, and letting the brand die. It seemed for years like that's what they wanted to do with their adventure games.

Whoa, apparently a trailer was released just yesterday. And apparently www.worldofmi.com main page now instead comes up with that site you linked to.

And dang, the beard is back :o

Have you heard of Monkey Island: Special Edition? That's another title they're soon bringing out. Personally I like the graphic style of the special edition a lot more than Tales of MI.

Yes, I have. I actually saw it mentioned in a forum post on an adventure games forum, but I didn't click on it, because in the back of my mind, I was wearily thinking, "Oh boy, yet another remake created by fans that's going to get shut down by LucasArts in a matter of months".

I can't remember the last time I've been happier to be dead wrong.
